Thursday Reading: "A Smile Can Save a Life"

A little push in the right path, never hurt anyone. From reading 'Staying Strong' by Demi Lovato, whom I feel like we share things in common. Hasn't come at a better time. I've had this book for a long time ... over a year maybe, and I've cracked it open in January right when i needed just a little push, even though I can overcome things myself (sometimes) - I just wanted to read, and see how she puts her words down on paper for all to read, because we can relate.

It's May 21st, and I couldn't agree more. When I was younger I used to smile at random people, because they would do the same to me, and wish me a good day. I feel like it's a good feeling to have knowing you also put a smile on someone's face - they might need it for whatever reason. It might also brighten up their day and pass along that smile to another.

Also, I've been reading Paper Towns for like months ... Not sure why it's taken so long but It should be done by next week. Like, hello, adventure time with MARGO!

What books are you reading this month?

TV Tuesday: I Recommend The Following ...

So, if you're like me you don't watch much of tv - but with things like netflix and hulu plus (thank you roku), you're all for it. I've watched different tv shows that were cancelled (some weren't worth watching anyways) and some that are still going strong (though it's time for some shows to say goodbye).  These three are all Science Fiction shows that I wouldn't mind watching years from now.

1) Today, i recommend you Sci-Fi, time traveler loving-geeky-nerds to tune in to the Syfy channel and watch Continuum! I've been holding out on this show for like years, along with others. If you're all for a badass cast, and a very strong female lead then this is for you. From being a proecter int he year 2077, Kiera wasn't suppose to return back in time to the year 2012 along with the criminals, but once that happened she's been trying to return home to her family, to the time she's known. The more time spent in the past, the changes happening to 2077 will never be the same if Kiera can't save the present, to get back to the future. I'm already on season three, and Carlos is bothering me every chance he gets lol - like Kiera was always the original - shut up, and sober up.

2) I also have been catching up on Bitten (i've been dodging this due to the whole werewolf craze - which annoyed me) though some of the acting isn't all the way there - do check it out. Once again there is a female lead, and kickass cast of werewolves (not blood related, but pack related) Logan is my favorite.

So when Elena was bitten .. it was a miracle that she survived- being the only female werewolf (ever) tries to leave it behind to live a normal life, but obviously things don't work out so well ... being the only female people are after her to join their pack, and will do anything for that to happen. (well, from what i could sum up)

3) Thanks to Misfits (watch it!!) ... I've been following (somewhat) some of the actors, and the projects they've done. When my little brother told me that Simon (Iwan) was on a show (mini-series) called Residue (there seems to be a film, too. an explosion happens, yup, the government is behind it. photographer Jennifer captures bad spirit like (residue) in each photo she's taken of people effected by the explosion - she goes out to find answers, and well you must watch to find out more) on Netflix - i went to check it out, and now i can't wait to see if there's another season.

Wisdom Wednesday: 'We only have one body. Love the one you're in.'

What if we all just stop? stop constantly judging someone for the way they look, for the way they weight, and for the way they decide to live their life. It is theirs, not ours. If you're not going to help someone in a positive way, then don't pretend to act like you care just to get something out of it. As that person struggles to let go of the negativity thrown their way to hate themselves, or feel like they're nothing, and don't have a say in things when they should - because it's their choice to love themselves and keep pushing to lifting themselves up to be a better person. We have to let people love, be in love with themselves as we should do the same for us. No matter the size, color of skin, and where one is from - taking a step in not being so negative to one another for being ourselves so it shouldn't ever be an issue. They are, and you are beautiful in your own skin and body! Everyone should love the person they are, where they're from, and the body they're in.

It's just a step to a better life.
Love yourself as much as you'll love your child, and the ones in your life.
Share everything from love, advice, strength and/or a simple helping hand with someone new, and old - you can make a serious difference in ones life.
Love your body, life, and culture(s) as you only live once in this life time.

'We only have ONE body. Love the one you're in.'

My favorite 2015 Met Gala looks ...

From looking beyond stunning, and beautifully handsome ... here are some of my favorites, and likes from the 'China: Through the Looking Glass' 2015 Met Gala (costume institute benefit gala) held in New York, May 4th, 2015. Sure, not everyone was on theme but they became some obsessions like for one, Fan was just stunning to me, that i had to post more than one photo! Solange's dress from Giles became a thing of beauty (even if people hated it- i loved it) it just fit her. From Zendaya looking like a beautiful life-like doll, to Michael B. Jordan in Dolce and Gabbana (a bit much with the shoes) bringing on some serious handsomeness - love him! Everyone had their moments of dos and don'ts, but we all have different style tastes, and love for creativity. Isn't that what makes us unique?

Check out some of my picks below.
(Fan) Bingbing Fan wearing Christopher Bu

This was my favorite of the night! She looks beyond stunning.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wearing Versace - Zendaya Coleman wearing Fausto Puglisi

The One I Wish I Met ...

Happy, happy birthday to a very extraordinary, loving, hardworking woman who i really wish i met, and life would have been beautifully amazing (though it's getting there). Happy Birthday Audrey (Kathleen Ruston) Hepburn! May you continue to rule, shine, grace the after life with such kindness, beauty, style, laughter, and love for all to see. Till this day you're still one of a kind, you're still elegant, a hollywood golden age legend, you're still a wonderful spirit we all admire, and are inspired by daily. Lots of love, and happiness to yours, and everyone whose looked up to you for decades! (everyone has their ups and downs, but it's how you overcome them, and not dwell on the negatives. keep moving forward, and share the positivity. never give up. keep on pushing yourself for the better. always, follow your dreams, and make them reality.) You seem to have shared that with those in your life. I will continue to the best version of myself, as i love, and do things with passion, and not out of spite. I thank you and all the strong women in my life for teaching me things that i know now.
You're forever my ahepburn.
