Sharp Objects by Gillian FlynnYes, it was previously recommended on the blog, but i just feel so attached to this book that i must do it once again. Ever since i started being obsessed with books i've loved suspense stories, so if that's something you enjoy this one is a MUST read. It's good to see this kind of stories and woman portrayals on today's culture. We are seen as victims most of the time that's it's like people sometimes forget woman can be as destructive as men, not something to be proud of course, but my point is that it is REAL. twisted, raw, real, intense, haunting...you won't put it down.i loved Flynn's writting so much that i'm really looking forward to read more of her books, gone girl is most likely to come next or maybe dark places.
Oh by the way, Sharp Objects has been announced to be adapted for tv so hopefully we will see it soon-ish on the screen.
Book Description: 'The story follows Camille Preaker, a Journalist living in Chicago who has to return to her hometown in order to report on a series of brutal murders.'
'Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: she must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille has hardly spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows: a beautiful thirteen-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims—a bit too strongly. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story—and survive this homecoming.'
