Earlier in the year ... well, I think either March or something. No, definitely April. I went to a Japanese Festival which they do every year where I live, but I never knew about it. This festival gives you an insight of the Japanese Culture and what they bring as they mix both the Japanese and Japanese-American wonders. There were so many tents set up with either the same clothing (kimonos) or different type of food, sweets & ramen noodles which I haven't got around to taste since the Naruto one seems to be pretty popular (however, in elementary I used to always eat their noodles ... does that count?) ranging from different prices, along with crafting tables for the younger kids or like candy making. They had it all to share with us, and get to know where, what they culture means to them.
With this festival bringing in probably thousands of people, it was crowded in some areas getting to tents because everyone wants in to search around, take pictures, learn more about this and that. I took some pictures, stared at the cosplayers, anime comics/graphics/books, religion, music (mostly or just all in english bringing out the Japanese - American culture). I was definitely for the book marks the nice ladies had made for me with my name which was spelled using their katakana writing system (one i'm learning, because i can only write that way lol).
There were a few dance groups performing new and old songs, even a kpop song: F(x)'s "Four Walls" was playing. There was this boy group, still new but after they did their solos and group performances, they gained some fans from the audience. The host was trying call them all back which was funny, but it's really great to see these types of reactions for new groups or whomever the individuals are. The group is called Jr. Exlie, i believe from Project Taro based in New York. Triple threats within the group, too! Talented dancers from the day, and well, a nice day to enjoy. (i can't access the videos from the boy group which i really wanted to show, but check youtube, i guess)
